Ideal from late spring to early autumn.\n\nIts generous dimensions make it a roomy, comfortable sleeping bag in mild conditions.\nIt can also be used as an outer liner over any other mummy-shaped bag (with the Defence 4, for example) - a combination that improves the performance of the inner bag.\nThat kind of combination is particularly recommended with down-filled bags in cold weather. Down does not like damp, and at sub-zero temperatures the Tropen on the outside will catch the frost, keeping the down nice and dry.\n\nIts trapezoidal construction at the feet gives more room and a little space to store kit you want to keep warm.\n\nSynthetic G-LOFT fill.\nShelltrans outer layer, a highly breathable fabric that moves moisture outwards effectively. Very important in hot, humid environments (the tropics).\nNo seams on the outer fabric, to avoid cold spots.\nA layer of Thermoflect that reflects body heat and raises the temperature inside the bag.\n\nInsulating baffle running the length of the zip inside.\nWide, covering hood with mosquito netting to keep insects off.
