Every Frost River bag is made from traditional materials

(waxed cotton - 500 g/m² - and leather) with one aim above all: to give you a bag that will be with you for decades. Largely inspired by the canoe packs used by 19th-century adventurers and explorers in North America, Frost River bags are built for hard environments and to last a lifetime.

All the bags are handmade in Frost River's workshops in Minnesota, in the United States.
Worth noting: some pieces may show slight purely cosmetic flaws. Every bag has passed Frost River's quality control before being shipped, which guarantees the quality and the longevity of the product. These bags are made for adventure and Frost River guarantees them for life!
The Isle Royale Jr backpack is a smaller version of the Isle Royale. It keeps the same width but is less tall and less deep than the Isle Royale Pack. It joins the new range of packs designed by Frost River for purely bushcraft use.
Its narrow shape makes it easier to move through cluttered ground, particularly off the path in the forest.
Two outer pockets have been added to the front of the pack, each with a "2 in 1" system: the pocket with a flap closed by a leather strap, plus a space between the pocket and the pack for slipping longer items in: a knife, tools... The flapped pocket is sized to take a Nalgene-type or type 58 (military) water bottle.Between these two pockets is a sleeve for an axe.On the sides, a strand of paracord and a small open pocket let you attach light kit (a jacket, a tarp...).

Padded, adjustable leather shoulder straps.
Adjustable sternum strap.Waist belt keeper. Belt not supplied; a padded belt can be ordered separately: Padded Waist Belt.
Brass hardware and leather straps to close the flap.
Two attachment points on the flap (D-rings) as well as 4 leather strap keepers under the bottom of the pack let you increase the load if needed.
Two leather compression straps on the top of the pack to reduce the volume and hold the contents firmly in place.
An open fabric pocket under the flap, for maps, a hat, gloves...
The bottom of the pack is reinforced with a double thickness of fabric.
The Isle Royale Jr pack is cut out for adventure. Ideal for day trips, it will still let you carry enough kit for a night or two away. Its many outside pockets make your gear easy to reach.

Straps designed for the leather keepers on the bottom of the pack are available as an option. Perfect for carrying a blanket or a mat.
