At Pyrene Bushcraft we have selected care products suited to the materials you actually meet in the field: waxed cotton, G-1000 fabric, Merino wool and leather. Used properly, they save you replacing your clothing too soon and improve how it performs in wet weather.
Which product for which material?
- Wax for cotton and G-1000: re-waterproofs canvas jackets and trousers, ideal for tightening the weave and boosting water resistance.
- Merino wool detergent: gently cleans Merino base layers without attacking the fibres or spoiling their temperature-regulating properties.
- Leather cream: feeds, softens and protects belts, bags and leather accessories against drying out.
When should you re-waterproof your clothing?
As soon as water stops beading on the surface of the fabric and starts soaking in, it is time to apply another coat of wax. Once or twice a season is usually enough, working especially on the most exposed areas: shoulders, elbows, knees and the hem of the jacket.
