M23 Ranger Cub Carbon Knife - Black

Peltonen Knives is a Finnish brand founded in 1995 by Juha-Pekka Peltonen, a former army officer. On a tour in Lebanon he handled an American service knife and was impressed by its weight, balance and handling. He then imagined a knife with the qualities of that model but adapted to Nordic conditions. A functional, tough tool, suited to military and outdoor use.
That is how the brand's first model was born in 1995: the M95 Ranger Puuko.

The M23 Ranger Cub is the little brother of the legendary Ranger Puuko.
A light but go-anywhere knife, much liked for its versatility. It is precise and easy to handle and can be worn round the neck or on the belt.A small puukko built for camping, hiking, bushcraft, carving... it will handle the most common tasks in those activities. It is also a sound choice for an EDC.

The blade of the M23 Ranger Cub is made in the Laurin Metalli Oy workshop in Kauhava, Finland.
An uncoated carbon blade with a scandi grind where the upper part stays black after hardening, in the purest tradition of the Finnish knife.
Easy to sharpen and excellent for working wood.
The spine of the blade can be used to strike a ferro rod.
Worth noting: an uncoated carbon blade is prone to corrosion. Remember to dry and oil it after use to prevent it.

The handle of the M23 Ranger Cub is made from a TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) blend.
A practically indestructible material that also recycles excellently.
Particular attention has been paid to the design, the ergonomics and the texture of the handle (slightly rubbery and very grippy). The knife stays in the hand whatever the conditions, even with wet hands.

The Kydex sheath of the M23 Ranger Cub comes with a paracord lanyard, so it can be worn round the neck.
Another option is horizontal carry on the belt. The sheath attaches easily and securely to a belt thanks to the Pull-the-DOT® press stud.
Kydex offers excellent durability, because it resists knocks and weather and stands up to damp, chemicals and temperature swings.

The M23 Ranger Cub is ideal for all sorts of tasks: precision work on wood, preparing feather sticks to start a fire, preparing food... You will take to it quickly!
