Bigboy 2000 Folding Saw 360-6.5

The Silky Bigboy 2000 360-6.5 is a folding pruning saw with a large curved blade.

Light and compact, it slips easily into a satchel or your backpack. It is perfect for outdoor and bushcraft use (building a shelter, setting up a camp, cutting firewood...), for looking after a garden, a plot in the mountains, walking paths...
The blade is 360 mm long with a curve of 2000 mm radius. That slight curve makes the sawing motion more natural and more pleasant, especially when cutting overhead.

Silky hand pruning saws cut on the pull stroke. There is no point forcing it to saw faster; let the saw do its work and do not push down, which could bend the blade.

The blade is Japanese steel with a chromed surface. The chrome strengthens it, reduces friction and protects the blade from rust and resin.
The tips of the teeth are heated to a very high temperature for a fraction of a second. Because only the tips are heated, the rest of each tooth keeps its cutting quality and its flexibility. Induction-hardened teeth last three times longer than untreated teeth. They cannot be sharpened and are recognisable by their blackened tips.
The Bigboy 2000 360-6.5 saw has 6.5 teeth per 30 mm, suited to green wood.

The handle of the Bigboy saw is comfortable; made of rubber, it gives a good grip and absorbs vibration. It can be used two-handed.
A hole in the handle lets you attach it to a cord or a carabiner.

To stow the saw, the Bigboy blade folds into the handle (the teeth are then protected).
The saw unfolds easily by pulling on the blade. You can lock the blade in two different cutting positions - very handy.
