Ferro rods have become an essential accessory today for anyone who enjoys the outdoors, particularly for hiking and bushcraft.
Even wet, a ferro rod throws sparks and lets you light a fire easily, with the help of a firelighter, or a stove. It works just as well whatever the conditions or the altitude.
The StrikeFire FireStarter Rod is simply a ferrocerium rod. The same one fitted to the StrikeFire FireStarter Large.
This rod throws powerful sparks (3000°C) and lasts for around 12000 strikes.
Enough to light several thousand fires!
Anyone handy, or anyone who likes to personalise their kit, can make a small handle and give their ferro rod a character of its own. DIY!
