Hideout Thermo Overbag - Camo

The Bushmen Hideout Thermo Camo is first and foremost a bivy bag, but it is also a poncho, a tarp and a hammock cover.

The Hideout Thermo is made from ripstop polyester. The fabric is light, packable, waterproof and breathable.
The inner face has an aluminised coating for extra warmth.
That silver coating reflects body heat beautifully and will keep you warm on cold nights.

In bivy bag mode, the Hideout Thermo measures 260 cm long, 95 cm wide at the shoulders and 45 cm at the feet. A mummy shape to hold warmth better and a generous length so you can store kit at the bottom of the bag to protect it from cold and damp. Boots and clothing fit easily.
The bivy bag is roomy: you can slip your mat and your sleeping bag inside. Where the sleeping bag usually ends, the width is 55 cm
The hood is very roomy too. You can adjust it with a cord at the back, but above all it has a mosquito net rolled and stored under a flap on top of the hood. Once deployed, you zip the bottom of the hood to the top of the bivy bag and you are protected from insects. Note too the wire that holds the netting away from your face.
For small items that need to stay dry and within reach (a phone, a head torch or documents), there are two internal pockets with waterproof zips at the top of the bag.

In poncho mode you are genuinely protected from rain, snow and even insects thanks to the netting.
The advantage of the Hideout poncho is that it closes at the sides with waterproof zips. So you are better protected than in a conventional poncho that fastens with buttons.
Thanks to the two-way zips you can increase or reduce the poncho's breathability at any time. And the Hideout fabric is already breathable.
This poncho is long, down to the knees. That length protects your trousers as you walk and can cover you completely when sitting.
On the chest there is a pocket with a waterproof zip and flap (with Velcro for patch enthusiasts).
The Hideout comes with two adjustable elastic tensioners. You can use one as a belt in poncho configuration. The poncho then sits closer to the body without restricting your movement.

In hammock cover mode, the Hideout Thermo covers the hammock completely, rather like a sock. That cover will protect you from wind and rain. You can even use the hood with its netting in this configuration!

Finally, the Hideout Thermo can also be used as a tarp. Its dimensions are enough to create a small shelter for one person.
Eight attachment points allow different pitches. Bushmen recommends using the elastic tensioners for tarp use. They tension the shelter very well and at the same time protect the loops and the fabric from damage.

Inspired by the plash palatka, the Polish lavvu, the Hideout was designed so it can be paired with another Hideout to make a large shelter for two.

In the same spirit you can pair two Hideouts to make a large bivy bag for two.
That brings extra warmth, which can be crucial in extreme conditions.
