Here is the Demoiselle, a smaller version of the Georgette.

The Georgette is what you get when a fork and a spoon are merged. This nicely drawn piece of cutlery has already won over many starred chefs in France and is starting to appear on fine tables in the United States.

So why Georgette and Demoiselle at Pyrene Bushcraft?

Very simply, Georgette, and then Demoiselle, are from the Ariege, and their creator, Jean-Louis Orengo, had the idea for this hybrid piece of cutlery during an expedition in the Canadian far north. Jean-Louis is above all an adventurer, trapper and ichnologist (a specialist in tracks). He has travelled the world for some twenty years in search of prints. Quite a unique collection, part of which you can see on his site Model Nature.
Keen to carry as little kit as possible, Jean-Louis began to imagine a piece of cutlery combining fork and spoon. Drawing on the shapes of animal paws, he began sketching it and making his first resin prototypes using print-casting techniques.
There is also a wolf print as a hallmark on the back of the spoon.
The result is genuinely pleasant to use and wins everyone over.
The Demoiselle has four tines for spearing food, a hollow for the spoon part and a cutting edge along the left side of the spoon - without being sharpened, the edge is thinned and lets you separate tender food easily.

Its dual spoon/fork function lets you mix flavours: you spear a piece of meat with the tines and at the same time pick up the sauce in the spoon.

Inspired by the shapes of animal paws, the Demoiselle is an extension of the hand. You should have no trouble taking to it, day to day at home as much as on your outings and bivouacs.Its reduced size makes it a piece of cutlery particularly suited to hiking
The Demoiselle is made entirely from 18/10 stainless steel. It is very tough and will stand up to hard use. It is not designed for it, but bear in mind that you could dig in ice or earth with it...
