Ceramic Grinding Stone

The Gransfors Bruk sharpening stone is made from a ceramic abrasive whose grain structure is designed to suit the job in hand (coarse or fine sharpening).

The fine side, 600 grit, for upkeep and finishing.
The coarser side, 180 grit, for rougher work.

Unlike a natural stone, a ceramic sharpening stone can be made to a more precise grit.
The fine side makes up 2/3 of the thickness, because it is generally the side used most and the one that wears fastest. The stone is normally used with water, but can be used dry.

The Ceramic Grinding Stone comes with a two-part protective rubber case. You can keep one part of the case on one side of the stone for a better grip while sharpening.

To take out nicks or micro-chips on the edge we would recommend the Gransfors Bruk axe file.
