What sets the Gransfors Bruk Hand Hatchet apart is its short handle relative to the size of the head. It has the same head as the Wildlife Hatchet but with a handle 10 cm shorter.
It is very easy to stow in a backpack or a satchel for walks in the woods, because it takes up very little room.

The hand hatchet is excellent for bushcraft and camping. Despite its short handle, this axe can be used to fell a small tree. It is also ideal for cutting twigs, splitting thin, smaller wood or making feather sticks for the fire.
Carvers will appreciate how compact and manageable it is for shaping a piece of wood before going at it with a knife and a hook knife.

The hickory handle is barely sanded; it has grooves and texture to give a good grip even when your hands are wet or sticky.

The edge is convex and then widens gently. A profile that helps the head enter the wood and stays effective for splitting

The shape of the sheath, which also covers the upper part of the head, prevents any contact between the axe head and your backpack.

The axe comes with a natural-tanned leather sheath and a copy of The Axe Book (in English).
