Its size makes for a good grip. Its curved profile protects your fingers and hands from cuts.
The Grinding Stone comes in a very handsome case in thick leather.
The coarse side is 180 grit, the fine side 600 grit. A good combination for maintaining the edge of your axe.
Hultafors recommends wetting the stone for sharpening.
