The Splitting Axe KLY SV is the smallest model, with a 50 cm handle and a head weighing around 900 g for a total weight of 1400 g.
The shape of the head is reminiscent of certain splitting wedges. A raised boss in the centre of each face increases the thickness of the head, the better to burst the wood open without slowing its penetration too much.
It is perfectly proportioned for splitting logs and kindling to start the fire at home.
Supplied without a sheath.
The Swedish steel head is hammered many times during forging to increase its density and so its longevity. Shot-blasted finish.Convex edge, sharpened and polished, ready to use.
Curved hickory handle treated with linseed oil.
