In 1928 Katadyn launched the first portable water filter, the Pocket.

It is a classic today.
Built from fine, hard-wearing materials, the Pocket is extremely tough. The favourite among extreme adventurers, elite units and humanitarian organisations.

Its ceramic filter removes bacteria, protozoa, cysts, algae, spores and sediment. Because they are larger than 0.2 microns, those micro-organisms cannot pass through the micro-pores of the ceramic filter (0.2 microns).
The ceramic filter can be cleaned many times, even in the field. Just take it out and run it under water, scrubbing gently.

Supplied in a pouch with:
- A weighted pre-filter for the end of the intake hose - a kind of strainer that stops large particles (over 130 microns) getting into the system.
- A foam float that slides along the hose so you can hold the pre-filter below the surface, to avoid drawing water from the very top or right off the bottom.
- Two hoses
- A small maintenance kit with a cleaning pad, a seal, lubricant and a gauge for checking the filter.
