Swedish Firesteel BIO Scout - Blue

Ferro rods were developed for the Swedish army and then used by many armies around the world.

Today, Firesteels are very popular in the outdoor world, particularly for bushcraft, survival and hiking. Even wet, a ferro rod throws sparks and lets you light a fire easily (with the help of a firelighter) or a stove. It works just as well whatever the conditions or the altitude.

The Light My Fire Swedish Firesteel BIO Scout lasts for around 3000 strikes.
The rod is a magnesium alloy. Each time you strike it you throw powerful sparks of around 3000°C.

The handle of the ferro rod has a built-in whistle to signal for help in an emergency.

The plastic parts of the Firesteel BIO Scout (the handles) are bio-plastic, that is, based on bio-sourced plastic (from renewable resources such as sugar cane, wood fibre or maize).
