M07 Full Tang Knife 14C28N - Curly Birch

Peltonen Knives is a Finnish brand founded in 1995 by Juha-Pekka Peltonen, a former army officer. On a tour in Lebanon he handled an American service knife and was impressed by its weight, balance and handling. He then imagined a knife with the qualities of that model but adapted to Nordic conditions. A functional, tough tool, suited to military and outdoor use.
That is how the brand's first model was born in 1995: the M95 Ranger Puuko.

The M07 is derived from the M95 Ranger Puuko. It is now available in a full tang version, that is, with a flat, full-width tang. The perfect blade for bushcraft and survival.
It was designed as an all-rounder for the outdoors, bushcraft and hunting. It is an in-between size, big enough for serious work but easier to handle than the M95 Ranger Puuko.
It combines the Finnish puukko tradition (blade shape and craft) with modern field demands.

The blade of the M07 Ranger Puuko is made in the Laurin Metalli Oy workshop in Kauhava, Finland.
A thick blade in 14C28N stainless steel with cryogenic treatment.
Immune to corrosion, it will suit anyone who would rather not worry about upkeep and anyone working in the wet (canoeing, fishing, sailing...).

The handle of the M07 Full Tang is made from curly birch scales, a lovely touch. Very pleasant in the hand!

Particular attention has been paid to the design, the ergonomics and the texture of the handle (slightly rubbery and very grippy). The knife stays in the hand whatever the conditions, even with wet hands.The sheath of the M07 Full Tang is made from thick, quality leather.
This sheath has an innovative EasyLock mechanism. It is a rubber roller that locks against the guard of the handle once the knife is pushed into the sheath.
Thanks to that mechanism the knife stays firmly in place. No worry about it leaving the sheath. And, surprisingly, the knife comes out and goes back in easily one-handed!
The Velcro supplied with the sheath lets you make a belt keeper for conventional carry. The sheath is worn on the right.

This M07 Full Tang is simply magnificent. For preparing firewood (batoning, feather sticks), for limbing, for setting up a camp, for hunting...
