Reindeer hide

A reindeer hide that can replace your foam mat on bivouacs.

Picture a small fire in front of your tarp, a bed of leaves or conifer branches, and your reindeer hide laid on top. You are ready for a pleasant night.

There is no R-value for a reindeer hide, but its insulating power has been recognised for a very, very long time...The long hairs are hollow, which traps air and gives better insulation.
Every reindeer hide is unique. The cream, beige, grey and brown tones vary with the age of the animal and the season.
These reindeer hides are specifically suited to outdoor use. After tanning, the leather has been given a plastic coating, making the hide waterproof. So you can lay it straight onto snow or damp ground without a second thought.
It can of course also be used as decoration indoors. On a wall, an armchair, the floor...
If you put it on the floor, take care not to place it where you walk often. Heavy traffic will damage it quickly (the hairs then break easily).
