Description
The Wastikivi sharpening stone is made in Finland in the village of Vastila, where there is a phyllite deposit renowned for its abrasive qualities.
This deposit has been worked for centuries and its sharpening stones have been exported the world over.
The round Sharpening Stone Round is particularly suited to sharpening an axe.
The round shape of the stone lets you work in circular rather than linear movements, which is handier for sharpening an axe.
Roselli recommends wetting the stone while sharpening. That carries away the heat of friction and gives a gentler edge.
