With a capacity of around 55 litres, the Jaakari L is based on the Border Patrol pack, originally designed for the Finnish border guard in the 1980s.

The Savotta Jaakari L is made from Cordura® 1000D, an ultra-tough material. It is built to resist wear, abrasion and hard weather.

The thermoformed, generously padded harness and hip belt, combined with an internal tubular aluminium frame, let the Jaakari L carry heavy, bulky loads comfortably. Just as well, because the volume of the Jaakari L is highly adjustable!

With a base capacity of 55 litres, it is big enough for multi-day hikes, but can be compressed into a compact day pack when needed.
Its volume can be increased considerably by raising or removing the lid, which is height-adjustable and detachable.
The main compartment closes by rolling the top down, a roll-top system like a dry bag.
Leave it open and you get a wide cylindrical compartment 80 cm tall and around 35 cm across, very handy for carrying firewood, for instance.

You can fit a hydration bladder in the pocket that holds the aluminium frame, with a tube port under the lid.

A large zip at the bottom gives access to the base of the pack. Inside the main compartment, a divider with a drawcord separates the lower part from the upper part.
Thanks to its MOLLE-compatible webbing across the whole pack, you can add pouches or attach bulky kit such as a sleeping mat or a tent.

Every seam on the Jaakari L is reinforced to Savotta's military quality standards. Tested in extreme environments, it is built for heavy use and an exceptional service life.
