Designed for the harshest conditions, the Savotta Kantamus 40L is a tough, functional, no-frills backpack. Built for tactical work, it is of course perfectly suited to the demands of bushcraft enthusiasts and committed trekkers.
Its proven design puts the emphasis on durability, ergonomics and modularity - the whole philosophy of the Finnish brand.

With a capacity of 40 litres, the main compartment closes by rolling the top down, topped by a floating, removable 8 litre lid. That is 48 litres of usable volume in total. That adjustable lid also lets you carry bulky gear between the main compartment and the lid.
Two side zips give quick access to the contents without opening the pack from the top, a detail thought out for efficiency in the field.

The carrying system is built for heavy loads. The back has an internal aluminium frame, closed-cell foam, wide padded shoulder straps and an adjustable hip belt. Together they give an excellent spread of weight, essential on long walks.
If you prefer, the aluminium frame and the foam can be taken out. Without the frame you get a softer pack that sits closer to the body. As for the foam, it can be used as a sit pad.

The Savotta Kantamus 40 L is made from Cordura® 1000D, a material extremely resistant to abrasion and tearing. It is built to last, to stand up to rough ground, scrub, rain and the wear of time.

MOLLE webbing runs along the sides, the front and the lid, letting you add pouches or, with straps, accessories to suit your needs (sleeping mat, tent...).
Two small side pockets at the bottom of the pack let you secure long tools (folding saw, axe, fishing rod, tripod...).
The lid holds two zipped pockets and a shock cord for attaching light kit (a jacket, a tarp, a poncho, a hat...).

Every seam is reinforced to Savotta's military quality standards. Tested in extreme environments, it is built for heavy use and an exceptional service life.
