Folding Saw Gomboy 210-10

The Silky Gomboy 210-10 is the all-round saw for camp.
Light and compact, it slips easily into a satchel or your backpack.
Its large blade (210 mm) saws good-sized sections easily, whether to build a shelter, set up camp or of course cut firewood. The cuts are clean and smooth!

Silky hand pruning saws cut on the pull stroke. There is no point forcing it to saw faster; let the saw do its work and do not push down, which could bend the blade.

The blade is Japanese steel with a chromed surface. The chrome strengthens it, reduces friction and protects the blade from rust and resin.
The tips of the teeth are heated to a very high temperature for a fraction of a second. Because only the tips are heated, the rest of each tooth keeps its cutting quality and its flexibility. Induction-hardened teeth last three times longer than untreated teeth. They cannot be sharpened and are recognisable by their blackened tips.
The Gomboy 210-10 saw has 10 teeth per 30 mm, the most versatile tooth pattern, suited to green wood and hardwood.

The handle of the Gomboy saw is comfortable; made of rubber, it gives a good grip and absorbs vibration.
A hole in the handle lets you attach it to a cord or a carabiner.

To stow the saw, the Gomboy blade folds into the handle (the teeth are then protected) and then slips into its case.
The saw unfolds easily by pulling on the blade. You can lock the blade in two different cutting positions - very handy.

Worth noting: the Gomboy 210-10 comes in a clear rigid case with a belt loop/clip - see the fifth photo. That clip can come undone unexpectedly and does not seem dependable to us for use on the move.
It is fine when you are working in one defined area, or it should be treated as a storage case.
Personally I prefer to take only the saw and leave the case at home. More practical and lighter :)
