Survival blanket

An essential part of any survival kit and one to take with you every time you head into forest or mountains.

The SOL Emergency Blanket reflects 90% of the heat your body gives off when you wrap yourself in it, and so gives significant protection in the event of an accident or trauma.

It is the silver surface that reflects the heat.
If you want to warm up, that surface must face towards you.
In hot weather, on the other hand, if you want to rig a shelter from the sun, the silver surface should face outwards, to send the sun's rays back and create a much cooler space underneath.

Beyond its use in first aid, a survival blanket has many uses:
- as stopgap protection if you are caught out by the cold
- to rig a shelter
- as a groundsheet
- as a tarpaulin (to protect things or to collect water)
