Trail Lite Self-Inflating Mat - Regular

A self-inflating mat brings undeniable comfort (more than foam) and lets you recover properly in your sleep, so you can set off again the next day. To avoid a puncture, though, you need to be careful and clear the spot where you lay it out (remove branches, stones...). The Trail Lite Regular is, to our mind, the Therm-a-Rest model that offers the best balance of comfort, weight, packed size and price!
It is a little heavier than the Prolite Plus Regular (50 g more) but gives a little more area for the upper body. A cut midway between the mummy shape of the Prolite Plus and a classic rectangular one.

To save weight, Therm-a-Rest uses urethane foam perforated on the diagonal. The result is an excellent weight-to-insulation ratio and very fast inflation. You unroll the mat and open the valve. In a few tens of seconds the foam core inflates by itself; you then just top it up with a few breaths to firm it to your liking.

The Trail Lite has the WingLock valve, which inflates and deflates faster. The wings fold over to save your breath, with non-return inflation.
That valve also lets you adjust the inflation while lying on the mat. You can set the firmness exactly as you like it.

The outer fabric (50D polyester) is non-slip. Very good abrasion resistance.
Supplied in its carry bag with two compression straps.

With an R-Value of 3.2 the Trail Lite is a very good three-season mat.
