A Zippo lighter works thanks to a simple and ingenious system based on liquid fuel and a mechanical mechanism. Inside, a cotton-filled reservoir soaks a wick that draws the fuel up to its tip. When the lid is opened and the striking wheel is turned, it rubs against a flint and produces sparks that ignite the fuel vapors on the wick. The flame is then kept stable, even outdoors, thanks to a metal chimney that protects it from the wind while allowing the air necessary for combustion to circulate. Finally, simply close the lid to cut off the oxygen and instantly extinguish the flame, making the Zippo a reliable, refillable, and durable lighter. A lighter for life!
