Classic Wide Water Bottle 1182 ml

In 2004 the American firm Klean Kanteen brought out the first BPA-free steel bottle in history.
The original idea was to offer an alternative to plastic or aluminium bottles: a healthy, light bottle, free of Bisphenol A (BPA), free of odour, easy to clean and good at keeping things cool.
Today Klean Kanteen has developed a wide range of bottles, all stainless steel and all with a distinctive design.

The Klean Kanteen Classic Wide 1182 ml bottle is the model best suited to hiking and travelling.

Its capacity of more than 1 L is perfect when you are moving through areas with few water points.

Made from food-grade 18/8 stainless steel, this bottle contains no BPA or other toxic material.
Because stainless steel is healthy, there is no need for a plastic or epoxy lining, as there is on aluminium bottles. It is the material of choice, because it neither holds a taste nor changes the taste of what is inside.
The Loop Cap is also stainless steel on the inside, so the contents are never in contact with plastic. It has a hinged metal ring for hanging or carrying the bottle.

The wide mouth is very handy and very versatile: filling and cleaning are easier, and you can store things other than liquid inside (berries you have just picked, food, a survival kit...).
The thread is compatible with MSR filtration systems

Despite its 1182 ml capacity this bottle is compact (9 x 23.5 cm) and will slip easily into your pack. You can also hang it on the outside of the pack thanks to the loop on its cap.
Obviously this bottle can be used as a vessel to boil water in, by setting it straight on a fire. Very useful for purifying water if needed, or to avoid carrying a cook pot and so travel lighter.
